Montana Taxes ARe on the Rise: Here’s What You Can do About It

Are you tired of paying more in taxes and levies!?

The Great Falls City Commission PASSED the tax increase ⬆️ for the general fund last night, along with the permissive medical levy ⬆️and the inflationary factor⬆️. So, they voted to impose the MAXIMUM⚠️percent increase in taxes allowed by state law for municipal governments. 

🚩Only 2 city residents spoke against it! 🤯

🟥This is in addition to the real estate tax increases. Department of Revenue (State)🤯

🟥In addition to the Library Levy.(City)🤯

🚩🚩🚩This is not to include the safety levy that will probably pass this fall. 

Wake up, Great Falls. Jordan and I are wondering if we need to move from the city. It is unreal. We need to see people speak out against this spending or we will lose local citizens. Jordan and I would like to raise our kids in our hometown. Let's be the change!

This tax increase of 4.38% was for the city’s general fund, the inflationary factor and the permissive medical levy. 

Special levies, such as the recently passed library levy (and if passed, the upcoming TWO public safety levies) ARE NOT INCLUDED in the maximum percentage cap allowed by the Montana Code Annotated and passed in this resolution. Therefore, those special levies are and will be ABOVE AND BEYOND THIS 4.38% INCREASE.
