The Front Porch Transformation: A Grand Reveal
We recently hosted a stellar open house for friends and family, showcasing our newly remodeled front porch. The event was a beautiful celebration, adorned with fresh flowers from Flowers in Bloom and catered by the delicious All Things Charcuterie. It was a day filled with joy, laughter, and a sense of accomplishment.

1. The Journey of Transformation
Our front porch was once an outbuilding that made our curb appeal look hideous. Determined to make a change, we envisioned a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing entrance that would set the tone for the rest of our home.
Why a Pergola?
The pergola was a key element in our transformation. It provides not only a stylish architectural feature but also a sense of depth and character to our home. The natural wood finish and expert staining bring out the beauty of the wood, making it a focal point of our front porch.
What We Did
Jordan's hard work brought our vision to life. He constructed the pergola, added cozy black basket swings with plush cushions, and installed a solar-powered address light. The plush rug adds comfort and style, creating an inviting space perfect for morning coffee and evening relaxation.
2. Safety and Style: The Perfect Railing
Designing the Railing and Balusters
Safety was a top priority. We collaborated with a contractor to design a railing and balusters that ensure safety while adding decorative flair. Always check your local building codes to determine the height requirements for railings to ensure compliance and safety.
3. DIY Swing Project: Personal and Budget-Friendly
Swing Creation
Inspired by a $3600 model, Jordan is building a swing with the same charm for about $200 in materials. This DIY project not only saves money but also adds a personal touch to our home.
4. The Final Flourishes
Next Steps
We’re putting the finishing touches on our front porch, including painting the front and garage doors and adding charming trellis designs. Jordan might surprise us by installing the outdoor lighting fixtures ahead of schedule.
