Weight Loss Journey: Day 10

Today will be short and sweet but with no sweets! I did get my steps in, as the kids and I went to the newest project house - Chickadee - to help pour concrete for the front deck. There was a ton of walking and exercise involved.

Weight

I weighed a depressing 198.8 on the scale. But I’m not stewing over it; I’m making this a lifestyle. Very slowly, I will see results—this is now my mindset. The fat just loves my body.

Stress Score

My stress score was 74.

Sleep

My sleep score was 78.

Heart Rate

My resting heart rate is 70 bpm! That is a HUGE accomplishment! Being that my body type increases my risk of developing heart disease, I look at this as a gigantic win. I started at a resting heart rate of 75 beats per minute.

According to experts at Harvard University, when you have a lot of belly fat, you usually have more visceral fat (fat around your internal organs, including your heart). This type of fat is associated with an increased risk of heart problems.

As I melt away the pounds, I hope to melt away that visceral fat as well.

Diet

Today, I failed and had a jalapeño wrap from Jimmy John’s. It was gross, and I regret it. I would have rather had a piece of bacon and tomatoes.

I finished off the evening with healthy fats, protein, and veggies. I did get an upset stomach afterwards, though. I’m not sure why.

Overall, I’m still doing well and not giving in to my sugary desires—not even fruit. I am grabbing jerky, pure almond butter, and unsalted cashews, and I need to drink more water.

Today was a great day. It might be my age or past experiences that have made me track the health stats. Before, I only tracked my weight and appearance. Now, I also track my health assessment. My weight is disappointing, but my resting heart rate numbers are changing! That encourages me to stay on track! I encourage you to track your numbers daily so that when your weight does not change, you can see the positive effects of your hard work.

I look forward to sharing more of my journey over the next few weeks. If you like what you’ve read, sign up for my newsletter! You’ll receive weekly emails to keep you in the loop so you don’t miss any of my updates!
